Terms of use (DRAFT)

DRAFT, not legal advice. Have a person with legal knowledge review it before publishing, and fill in every TODO. The website (talklabapp.com/terms) shows this file as it is, including the TODOs.

Last updated: [TODO: date]

These are the rules for using Talk Lab (“the app”). Talk Lab is run by [TODO: owner’s legal name], [TODO: postal address] (“we”, “us”). By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Talk Lab.

1. What Talk Lab is

A place to practice conversations with AI people, by text or out loud, and get feedback from an AI coach. It is for practice and confidence.

2. What Talk Lab is not

If you are in crisis or thinking about hurting yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now.

3. The AI people are fictional

The people you talk to are made by AI. They are not real, and any likeness to a real person is chance. They can’t meet you.

The AI can make mistakes. Replies and feedback can be wrong, strange or unhelpful. Use your own judgment.

4. Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. One account per person. Keep your sign-in safe; you are responsible for what happens in your account.

5. Fair use

Please don’t:

If an AI person writes something offensive, sexual or harmful, please report it: long-press the message and tap Report this message.

6. Your content

You own what you write and say. You let us store it and process it, also with AI services, only to run Talk Lab for you. This includes your voice when you talk out loud. The privacy policy has the details.

When you report a message, we may look at it and the chat around it.

7. Plans, messages and payments

8. Limits and changes

There are daily limits to keep the app safe and fair. Features, AI models, prices and limits can change. Sometimes the app may not be available.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time: You → Delete account, or by email (how to delete your account).

We can pause or close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or puts others at risk. Where we can, we tell you why.

10. Our liability

Talk Lab is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for decisions you make because of the AI’s replies or feedback.

Our total liability to you is limited to [TODO: liability cap, for example what you paid us in the last 12 months].

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer law.

11. Law

These terms follow the law of [TODO: country]. Disputes go to the courts of [TODO: country / city], unless your consumer law lets you use your local courts.

12. Changes and contact

When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. For big changes, we tell you in the app first. Questions? Write to support@talklabapp.com [TODO: confirm this address works].
